Who am I?
Carol Washington is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Economics. She previously served as the Director of Human Resources for The Wilson Group. In 2014 she served as the Chief Operating Officer for Life'sWork of Western PA for over 2 years and previously lead The NorthShore Community Alliance (NCA) where for over 9 years she served as the Executive Director and served 7 years as the Director of Human Resources. Over the past 30 years, her professional career has included: District Human Resource and Regional Operations Manager for Eckerd Drug, Finance Manager & Senior Accountant for Mellon Bank Trust and Corporate & Student Liaison for INROADS Inc.
She has earned recognition from her peers by being recognized as one of the 2013 "Women of Excellence" and was the recipient of the 2014 "Ladies Who Network" award. In 2017 she was inducted into the “Eberly School of Business Hall of Distinction”. for her career and passion in women leadership and success as an alum of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The greater part of her career has been spent volunteering to train and develop youth and adults on various topics including: Leadership, job development, parenting, re-entry resources, transition to college and empowerment. Her most recent accomplishment has been being recognized as an author, publishing her first book entitled "Rules of Engagement", then followed by her 2nd book “Dear Black Man”.
Carol is a Veteran of the United States Army Reserves. As a former member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, she has presented at the Annual National conference for three consecutive years as an advocate for Violence prevention in the African American community as well as leadership in the 21stCentury. She also served as a member of the National Alliance for Children & Families that supports settlement house movements across the country. She has served on numerous Board of Directors as well as volunteering for youth and adult literacy programs. She is inspired by the next generation of Women Business Leaders and dedicates her life to making a difference.
